Scholarship opportunities for UP graduate/post graduate students (2/2)

The Office of International Linkages would like to disseminate this information on the Scholarship Opportunities for Graduate Students from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) and UP Partner Universities:

 

1. 2018-2019 Fulbright Graduate Student Program
The Philippine-American Education Foundation (PAEF) is now accepting applications for 2018-2019 Fulbright Graduate Student Program. Qualified applicants can apply for graduate degree students (i.e. master’s, Ph.D.) or non-degree studies (i.e., doctoral dissertation research) in the United States.

The objective of the Fulbright Program is to enable qualified Filipinos to pursue their graduate studies in their fields of interest in the United States and develop leaders who can contribute to promoting better understanding between the Philippines and the United States.

2. 2017 Taiwan Scholarship Programs
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) is now accepting applications for the 2017 Taiwan Scholarship Programs. Available scholarships are intended for Filipinos who would like to pursue their further studies in Taiwan (Master’s and Doctoral Degrees) or for those who would like to learn the Mandarin Language.

3. Japanese Government Scholarship for 2017 (Japanese Studies Students) Osaka University

The Center for Japanese Language and Culture at Osaka University in Japan is now accepting applications for the Japanese Studies Program (Nikkensei Program) under the Japanese Government Scholarship for 2017. The Program is for academic study in Japan for foreign students interested in enhancing their understanding of the Japanese language, Japanese affairs and Japanese culture.

The deadline of the application is Friday, February 24, 2017.
The deadline of the Questionnaire for Telephone Interview is Friday, February 17, 2017.

4. Training Programs under MASHAV-Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation for 2017
The MASHAV-Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation is offering the following training programs for 2017:

a. Agribusiness: A Tool for the Empowerment of Rural Women (23 April – 12 May 2017) aims at contributing to rural women’s empowerment buy exploring agricultural entrepreneurship, as well as farm related components of the rural economy contributing to income generation and employment, taking into consideration the adaptability of methods and technologies, to meet local conditions in each participant’s country. Application deadline: 21 February 2017

b. Renewable Enerfy as a Catalyst for Regional Development (07 – 23 May 2017) aims to understand the current trends of traditional energy production and consumption locally, nationally, and on a global basis. It also introduces the participants to renewable energy basics and improves their knowledge of efficient energy use. Application deadline: 27 February 2017

c. Professional Development for In-Service Teachers (07 – 26 May 2017) aims to promote professional development teaching in such a way as to prepare personnel for the future in a systematic yet flexible manner. The course also aims to train future-oriented pre-service and in-service teaching staff to meet the needs of the urban education environment. Application deadline: 27 February 2017

d. Educational for Sustainable Development (14 May – 09 June 2017) aims to developof self-identity and values reflecting the worldview of the teacher as an educator for sustainability; impart knowledge and information on current environmental, social and economic issues and the relationship between them; and develop creative and flexible methods of thinking that will enable the identification of environmental and social problems and their solutions. Application deadline: 19 March 2017

e. Climate Change and Agriculture (14 – 26 May 2017) will demonstrate advanced methodologies and techniques developed in order to compensate for the impact of unfavorable climate conditions on agricultural production. It will introduce Israel’s knowledge in various fields such as irrigation and water management under changing climate conditions, implementation of agro-technologies for microclimate control, cultivation of crops resistant to climate change, and User-Provider Interaction. Application deadline: 24 February 2017

The scholarships will cover the registration fee and accommodations, airfare and pocket money are to be shouldered by the participant.

5. Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) University of Tsukuba 2017-2019
University of Tsukuba has announced the call for applications for the Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) for the Academic Year 2017-2019.

PEPP is a master’s program that offers scholarships to mid-career professionals from developing and transition countries who have had a solid university education and working experience in areas related to policy making. Applicants admitted to PEPP may apply for scholarships sponsored by the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP).

6. China-AUN Scholarship 2017/2018
The ASEAN University Network (AUN) Programme provides a full scholarship which covers, tuition waiver, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance for ASEAN countries’ citizens to pursue their further study in China. This scholarship supports master’s students for no more than 3 academic years or doctoral students for no more than 4 academic years. It covers major study and Chinese language study.
