2019 SUMMER PROGRAMS (PART 3)

The Office of International Linkages would like to disseminate this information on the available Summer Programs with partner universities for 2019 (continuation of 7 January 2019 post):

10. University of Trento Summer School 2019

University of Trento (UniTrento) offers three (3) short-term summer programs for 2019:
10.1 Summer School in Italian Language and Culture, from 16 to 29 June 2019 
10.2 Summer School on Global Challenges, from 30 June to 13 July 2019  
10.3 Summer School on China Studies Tradition and Innovation, from 7 to 20 July 2019 

All courses are offered in English and Transcript of Records certifying 6 ECTS (+2 possible additional credits for optional extra work) will be awarded at the end of the program.The teaching methodology is both in classroom and outside UniTrento spaces. 

The program is open to graduate and undergraduate students. The reduced participation cost is 450 euros (instead of 1000) and is inclusive of accommodation in single room, all meals (except for breakfast), entrance to main museums, bus pass and social program. In order to avail of the reduced participation cost, the student must be nominated by the home university, i.e. University of the Philippines through the Office of International Linkages.

Interested applicants must submit [1] motivation letter, [2] 1 page curriculum vitae, and [3] Certificate of English as medium of instruction in UP (get it from the Office of the University Registrar) to [email protected] with subject “[2019 UniTrento SS] UP Campus_Full Name” on or before 11 March 2019. After nomination, all students are expected to finalize their application by 31 March 2019 through their on-line system.

11. 2019 APU Summer Gateway Program

The Gateway Program offers intensive Japanese language courses from beginner to intermediate level. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)’s multicultural environment, which cannot be found elsewhere in Japan, provides a friendly and safe environment for students who do not have any background in Japanese. You will not only expand your knowledge of Japanese and Asia Pacific cultures, but also deepen your intercultural understanding and cross-cultural communication skills by studying alongside students from over 90 countries and regions.

Program dates: May 30 – July 26, 2019
Cost: 546,000 JPY (screening, registration, program, housing, and bank transfer fees)

12. Universiti Brunei Darussalam Global Discovery Programme

The 4-week credit-bearing summer program is designed to offer international students an opportunity to experience student-life in this culture-rich kingdom, in an academic setting which is stimulating, challenging and progressive. The program includes lectures complemented by experiential learning activities such as field trips, excursions, and workshops.

13. 2019 NTU Plus Academy Summer+ Programs

The National Taiwan University (NTU) provides 17 programs across different fields of study, including Arts, Chinese Studies, Engineering, Natural Science, Social Science and Research & Internship for the 2019 NTU Plus Academy Summer+ Programs. The application period for 2019 summer programs starts from 18 February and ends on 12 May 2019.

14. Kyushu University Summer in Japan (SIJ) 2019

Kyushu University’s Summer in Japan (SIJ)’ is a 4-week intensive study abroad program for Japanese language and cultures by using English as the primary medium of instruction and designed for undergraduate-level students in all academic field from all over the world.

The program will run from 24 June to 19 July 2019 at Kyushu University, Japan. The program includes Introduction to Contemporary Japan (course for credit), Japanese Language (course for credit), field study for cross-cultural experience, homestay in local community, and one-on-one tutor.
