Student Exchange Program entails a student pursuing undergraduate or post graduate studies from one country received into the University of the Philippines (UP) in exchange for one sent to a foreign academic institution. The purpose of the exchange program is to promote international friendship and cultural enrichment by stimulating and supporting academic activities and projects among students from UP. Implementation of the student exchange program will strictly follow the Implementing Rules and regulations (IRR)/guidelines and requirements of specific MOA/MOU for the specific student exchange program.
UP accepts foreign exchange students from partner universities around the world. UP through the Office of the International Linkages (OIL) accepts the endorsement and the application documents of the foreign student for review and appropriate action. OIL sends the Notice of Acceptance along with the other necessary documents and information for exchange student to their university’s International Office.
UP through the Office of the International Linkages (OIL) selects UP students to participate to partner universities’ student exchange program around the world. The call for application for Student Exchange Program with foreign universities and list of available scholarships are usually released to the academic units during the last quarter of the year. Generally, all UP students who are sophomore or junior standing during the time of application and with very good scholastic record are eligible to apply. Additional qualifications may be imposed depending on the requirement of the foreign university.
