The University of the Philippines (UP) reaffirmed its commitment to international academic collaboration through its successful participation in the NUS Go Global Fair (GGF) 2025, held on 22 January 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at UTown Sports Hall 1 & 2, located in the Stephen Riady Centre, University Town, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The NUS Go Global Fair is a flagship internationalization event organized annually by NUS. It brings together over 35 partner universities and various NUS departments, engaging more than 2,000 students interested in overseas study, research, and exchange opportunities.

The UP delegation was led by Director Dolores Cecilia T. Madrid of the Office of International Linkages (UP OIL). Accompanying her were Mr. Guillian Mecate, Ms. Christel Sobredo, Ms. Karla Mae Punay, and Ms. Marilyn Nirza. The team was instrumental in ensuring a well-coordinated and effective representation of UP at the event.

The UP booth was strategically positioned within the bustling Sports Hall venue, drawing interest from hundreds of students throughout the day. It featured a strong visual identity, including standees highlighting UP’s international rankings, video presentations showcasing the university’s nine constituent campuses, and QR-code linked promotional materials, aligning with UP’s sustainability efforts. University-branded merchandise was also distributed, which helped boost visibility and engagement.

“All aspects of our participation—from travel and logistics to student engagement—were executed according to plan,” said Mr. Mecate, Head of Program Development and Strategy at UP OIL. “We were pleased with the enthusiastic reception from both NUS students and fellow university representatives.”

The UP delegation engaged in substantive discussions with representatives of various institutions, many of whom expressed strong interest in initiating or expanding academic partnerships with UP. These discussions touched on student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, and opportunities for dual or joint degree programs.

As the national university of the Philippines, UP remains steadfast in its pursuit of academic excellence and global relevance. Its participation in high-impact events such as the NUS GGF 2025 plays a vital role in advancing its internationalization agenda.
