OIL Staff participated in various virtual webinars and trainings for 2021

For the year 2021, OIL has organized various virtual webinars and trainings for its staff to augment their knowledge and skills in performing duties and responsibilities for the university’s public engagement and internationalization efforts.

Here’s a recap of all the webinars and trainings participated by the OIL Staff:

Customer Focus: Identifying Needs and Developing Solutions

The webinar on Customer Focus: Identifying Needs and Developing Solutions was held last 30 June 2021 with Mr. Howell V. Mabalot, President and Chief Trainer of HVM Training Services.

The webinar was divided into five sessions with topics on Building a Strong Foundation of Excellent Service, Internal Customer Satisfaction, Managing Customer Expectations, Personalized Listening Skills: Effective Customer Persuasion, and Dealing with Difficult Situations.

While the webinar was done virtually, there were a lot of insightful take-aways and engaging activities on customer service and how to address any concerns effectively and compassionately.

5S for an Organized, Safe, Clean, and Efficient Workplace

With Ms. Lhoree Valerio, MBA, CHE, CGSP of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde as the resource person, the webinar held last 15 September 2021 imparted values of efficiency, organization, and productivity as identified in the 5S for Lean Manufacturing Methodology.

Prior the webinar, a pre-work assessment form on the current workplace was also asked from each of the staff. These assessment forms were further discussed during the webinar and provided how the 5S for Lean will help in organizing the workplace and improving workflows.

Mental Awareness and Wellness Webinar

OIL invited Asst. Prof. Alberto Dimarucut of the College of Human Kinetics, UP Diliman to conduct a mental awareness and wellness webinar through Dance Movement Exploration: A new approach to discovering self in movement last 13 December 2021.

Through this webinar, mindfulness is introduced to prepare the body for the day’s activity with body awareness, breathing, and sound exercises. Moreover, activities on self-reflection were also integrated in the webinar.

Systemic University Change Towards Internationalization (SUCTI) Training

The Systemic University Change Towards Internationalization (SUCTI) Training was facilitated by Ms. Noelle Camille Rivera, SUCTI Trainer and a University Research Associate II and the Head of the Partnership and Communications Section of the Office of International Linkages Diliman and Ms. Aura Fe Julia S. Carbonilla, Head of the Student Mobility Section of the Office of International Linkages Diliman last 20 December 2021.

Following the SUCTI project’s objective of empowering administrative staff by providing them with knowledge and skills related to their university’s internationalization process, the training included topics on what is internationalization, an introduction to intercultural communication and a reflection on how each staff has an active role in contributing to the internationalization efforts of the university.
