As the office carries out its functions for the second half of the year, the UP Office of International Linkages (OIL) conducted its Mid-Year Review for 2023 last June 26th at Quezon Hall Meeting Room A.

OIL Director Dr. Imee Su Martinez presided over the session while each cohort discussed its respective accomplishments and examined the data gathered over the first six months of the year. More importantly, areas of improvement were identified and action plans were proposed to ensure the quality of service that the office offers to its partners and stakeholders.

The Mid-Year Review commenced with reports by Events and Special Projects Team and Admin and Finance Team, respectively. Thereafter, program managers summed up the achievements of each OIL program in terms of number of grantees, liquidations, and expenditures. Director Martinez put emphasis on the assessment of the timelines of processes which involve other UP System offices.

Reinforcing the vision of a global university, UP OIL continues to innovate through its Development and Strategy roadmap for the third and fourth quarters of 2023. One of its manifestations is the proposal of new programs such as the UP System Support for International Advanced Studies Grant (UP SINAG) catered to Ph.D. students.

The Ecology Team also shared its efforts, while the External Affairs proposed new approaches to its dissemination plan. After a brief open discussion, Director Martinez capped the session with a reiteration of the institution’s thrust.

The UP OIL Mid-year 2023 Report will be submitted to the Office of Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
