UP OIL Conducts Strategic Planning in Baguio City

The Office of International Linkages (OIL) of the University of the Philippines (UP) conducted a strategic planning activity in Baguio City from December 5-7, 2022, to review its programs and initiatives, and to chart its direction for the next few years.

The strategic planning activity was attended by key personnel from OIL, including the Director, Dr. Imee Su Martinez, and the Deputy Director, Dr. Noel Christian A. Moratilla.

The three-day event included discussions and workshops on various topics, including the assessment of OIL’s current programs and initiatives, the identification of emerging trends and opportunities in international linkages, and the development of a roadmap for the office’s future direction.

Dr. Martinez emphasized the importance of strategic planning in ensuring that OIL remains relevant and responsive to the changing needs of the university and the global community. She also highlighted OIL’s achievements over the past few years, including the expansion of UP’s global partnerships and the establishment of various international programs and initiatives.

The workshop sessions focused on the office’s strategic planning trajectory, exercises on goal-setting, SWOT analysis, and scenario planning. Participants were also encouraged to provide feedback and insights on OIL’s programs and initiatives.

The strategic planning activity culminated in the development of a strategic plan that outlines OIL’s vision, mission, goals, and strategies for the next few years. The plan also includes specific action plans and timelines for the implementation of various initiatives.
