The Ernst Mach-Grant – ASEA-UNINET offers scholarships for full or partial PhD studies, postdoc research stays and for studies in the field of music practice at an ASEA-UNINET member university* in Austria to students and researchers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Area of Study: All fields of study: Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Human Medicine, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts
Types of Grants:
A. PhD Grant
Target Group: Postgraduates who want to carry out a full doctorate/PhD-program in Austria and fulfill the requirements for admission and who have completed their studies at a university outside Austria
Duration: 36 months
Grant benefit: 1,050 euros per month + a travel costs subsidy of max. 1,000 euros
B. Postdoc Grant
Target Group: Postdocs who are involved in teaching and research at an ASEA-UNINET member university* in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, or the Philippines.
Duration: 3 to 9 months
Grant benefit: 1,150 euros per month + a travel costs subsidy of max. 1,000 euros
C. Sandwich Grant
Target Group: Postgraduates pursuing a doctorate/PhD-program at an ASEA-UNINET member university* in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam or the Philippines who would like to conduct a part of their studies in Austria
Duration: max. 9 months
Grant benefit: 1,050 euros per month + a travel costs subsidy of max. 1,000 euros
D. Music Grant
Target Group: Undergraduates (or higher) in the field of music practice (instrumental and vocal performance, composition, and conducting)
Duration: 9 months
Grant benefit: 1,050 euros per month + a travel costs subsidy of max. 1,000 euros
Maximum Age: Undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates: 35 years; postdocs: 45 years.
Language Proficiency: Very good knowledge of English and/or German.
Selection Process: After an examination of the formal requirements and an evaluation of the applications by experts, the candidates will be invited to a personal interview. Documents and Uploads to be Submitted with the Online Application:
· Research proposal (in the field of music: letter of motivation)
· Written consent of the supervisor at the Austrian host university (in the field of music: “Letter of Endorsement” issued by the Austrian Music Universities after successful participation in the auditions)
· Two letters of recommendation by university lecturers
· Copy of passport
· University graduation certificates as well as a German or English translation.
