Forging Academic Partnerships for Internationalization: UP participates in AIMS Philippines National Review and AIMS Programme Annual Review Meetings

The Office of International Linkages, headed by Mr. Guillian Mecate, Head of Program Development and Strategy and Ms. Marilyn Nirza, Program Associate of the MOVE-UP Program, represented the University in the National Review Meeting and IRO Workshop of the AIMS Philippines in Saint Paul University of the Philippines, Tuguegarao City from October 23, 2022 to October 27, 2022.

In the said National Review Meeting, 14 Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) prepared the Country Report of the Philippines which will be presented in the 16th Annual Review Meeting of the AIMS Programme in South Korea on November 2 to 3, 2022

The Country Report of the Philippines highlighted the updated national policies related to student mobility, internationalization and AIMS trends, targets and budget, the best practices, policies or initiatives, and new internationalization practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the expectations and visions of member-universities for the AIMS Programme.

A week after, The Office of International Linkages, represented by Mr. Guillian Mecate, Head of Program Development and Strategy, represented the University in the 16th Annual Review Meeting of the AIMS Programme in Seoul, South Korea from November 1 to 4, 2022.

The Annual Review Meeting began with the presentation of Programme Updates by SEAMEO-RIHED which was discussed by Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Centre Director of SEAMEO RIHED and Ms. Supansa Kajavong, Programme Officer of SEAMEO RIHED.

Joining with the other 7 PHEIs and officials from CHED, forming the AIMS Philippine Delegation to the 16th Annual Review Meeting, the Country Report of the Philippines, containing the programme updates, targets, and best practices discussed during the National Review Meeting was presented to other member-countries present in the ARM.
