Inbound Student Exchange

The University of the Philippines (UP) accepts international exchange students from partner universities around the world. These inbound students should be officially nominated by their home university based on their own set criteria for selecting exchange students. Students may choose to enroll to any UP Constituent Universities (CU) as long as the courses the students will be taking are available in that UP CU.

Eligibility

To be eligible as an inbound exchange student, the applicant:

  •  Must be endorsed by the International Relations Office of the Home University;
  • Should have sufficient English Language Proficiency to cope with requirements of the courses;
  • Preferably with a General Point Average of 3.0/4.0.

Nomination Procedure

  1. The student’s home university’s International Relations Office (IRO) must send the following to UP System OIL using the Nomination Portal.
  1. After receiving the nomination documents, we will do an initial evaluation then forward the documents to the preferred UP campus. We will wait for the reply from the UP CU if the nominees will be accepted and for the required application packet.
  1. Should the student be accepted by the UP Constituent University (CU) or Campus, UP System OIL will inform the student’s Home University IRO for the next steps, which is application.

Application Procedure

  1. After the nomination period ends, the UP System Office of International Linkages (OIL) will email your home university’s International Relations Office (IRO) with:
    • A list of qualified students
    • Detailed instructions and required application documents from the respective UP campuses
  1. Students must personally complete the required application documents. Scanned copies of the student’s application documents must be submitted to UP OIL.
  1. Once the forms are found in order by UP, the hard copies of the application documents must be sent by post (unless otherwise stated) to the corresponding UP CU office or personnel. The address and delivery details will be provided by UP System OIL through email.
  2. After receiving the documents, UP System OIL will forward the documents to the appropriate UP Constituent University (CU) for the processing of the student’s Letter of Acceptance.
